New Quilt, New Pattern, New Give Away

Quilting in Romania is sometimes challenging! You can't be bored! I will tell you about some challenges in January.

Now I am glad I can finally share this quilt with you. I made it for my sister Nina. I did not plan to make a quilt for her, but I had purple fabric in my stash and since she loves purple, I had to use it.

In my family we can't keep secrets too long. I wanted to keep secret this quilt, but Nina saw me while I was piecing it.
-Is this quilt for a give away on your blog? It's pretty.
-Yes, for giving away!

Then she saw the finished quilt a few days later.
-Please, please, don't give it away, I want to buy it!
So, a few weeks before her birthday, I had to tell her it is her quilt. It was wonderful to see her face and her joy!

So, here it is! It was such a fun quilt to make so that I wrote a pattern too.

I love the way the strips are stitched around the triangles. Just strips and triangles are needed. Easy and accurate piecing, easy quilting!

If you want to make a quilt like this, the pattern is in my shop.
If you have not pieced yet 60-degree triangles, don't worry. The pattern includes a tutorial with tips for perfect piecing.

You can piece this quilt very easy if you have a 60-degree triangle ruler. I use very often this ruler to make kaleidoscope blocks, in fact, it was the second ruler I bought when I started quilting.
But even if you don't have this ruler, you still can make it using a rectangular one. The pattern shows you the how-to.

The pattern is very versatile. Once you learn the technique you can make quilts in different styles, using small or big triangles, wide or narrow strips.

And here are two small versions you can piece in no time.
The pattern looks more complex with strips of different colors around the triangle but I love these simple versions too.

Give Away
New pattern means new give away, so here it is:

1. I will give away two patterns to two readers of my blog- if you want to learn how to make a quilt like this, please leave a comment at the end of this post.

2. Also I will give away one pattern and a gift certificate for $15, in a shop of your choice, for a 8'' triangle ruler, to one of you who could help me spreading the word about this pattern; mention it on your blog and please leave a comment with the link to your blog.

The give away is open until December 10th.
I will choose the winners using a random number generator on December 11th.

The pattern is ON SALE until December 10th.
Thank you for stopping by and Good Luck!
