Baby quilt top

I am not totally satisfied how it turned out.

Hopefully I will like it more after quilting.

Baby quilt pieced !

I spent some time cutting all the pieces...

but I found an super easy way to keep all the patches in order.

Halves of block

Very easy to make- nothing to match.

I wanted perfect blocks so I adjusted the "not so perfect" 12" blocks to 11.5".
It took me 6 hours to piece 16 blocks...

...and one more hour to join the blocks.
I 'll show you tomorrow the top, it is already night and I can't take good pictures.
Enjoy a beautiful weekend !

First step...

I made the pattern for my next baby quilt.
I wanted to make a quick and easy quilt and I ended up designing a block with 21 pieces. But it is easy, only squares and rectangles.

I will use these fabrics for half of the blocks

and these for the other half. Background fabrics are included.
Hopefully I will not change my mind until Thurday when I'll start cutting the fabrics.

Enjoy a beautiful day !

Easy blocks

I will have a busy summer and there is not a chance to finish the quilt for my husband.
I want to make two pillows to complement the quilt, I am happy that I made their center!
I need bigger blocks so that I will add some strips to them.

I used a striped fabric, I cut four strips and I stacked them. Fabrics with straight stripes work best.

I cut a set of quarter square triangles with this ruler,

then another set.
There will be a little waste of fabric, it is not a good method to make a king size quilt, but it is great for making a few blocks.

Nothing to match - no headache!

It seams I will not be able to make new tutorials for you in the next few months. I am working hard on the large project I started a few months ago. But I will try to compensate this with a few free quilting designs.
Have a wonderful week !

Green things and a new beginning

My friends know I love all things green. I love daisies too.
Teodora sent me these pretty little things. They are to dye for. Thank you, Teodora !

After 23 years, we have a new baby in the family. My favorite cousin has a baby girl. So I pull out from my stash all girly fabrics because I have to make a baby quilt.

If I could cross the street to buy a large scale print for this palette, I would do that. But, of course, I can't.
I don't know yet what pattern I will use, do you have a favorite pattern for baby quilts ?

I am happy that I have one more reason to make pretty little things ! And the fun just begin ! We are so blessed because my youngest sister will have a baby boy in August. The blue palette is waiting !

And not only the babies will be spoiled, the mothers as well ! I am so excited !

Bags

Hi everyone,

I am still here ! I am making new projects but I can’t show them, yet. Surprise!

Last week I was spoiled. A quilting friend came to visit me. A few weeks ago Silvia sent me pictures of her Amelie and baby Amelie bags.

Then I was happy to see a new Amelie in person !
We spent together just a few short hours, but now we have another memory to cherish.

Speaking of bags, here are a few other "Retro Fun" bags , made by

Lynn Marion
Corina

Jan
Mihaela

Renata

Naomi
made three Belle bags.
This miniature is a coin purse, Naomi added to it even a zipper !
Sylvia (Iowa)

I was so glad to see them all. Different fabric choices, quilted or unquilted- all are wonderful !

If you made something using my patterns or my tutorials, we would be glad to see them ! Just upload them in the group pool.

Have a great week!
I have to finish a few projects and start others, so here it will be a busy week. And we have a very hot weather, not a pleasure to keep three layers of fabrics in the lap and quilt them!
Pepe- the cat, is sleeping on the coolest thing in the room - the cutting mat !

This and that...

I am in love with Robert Kaufman fabrics. I am happy just looking at the pictures of their wonderful collections of fabrics.
I just bought this fabric from the Holiday Flourish III collection and I think it is the most beautiful Christmas fabric I have ever had. Can’t wait to make something out of it. A kaleidoscope, I could not cut it for other thing than a kaleidoscope.

I told you that I have the most wonderful sisters ? They love quilts very much ! There was a time when they helped me to piece many quilts.

Do you think that cutting away the batting for trapunto is a hard work? Look at them! They are not quilters! But they are happy to help me !

Pepe is happy too! But we have to keep an eye on him every minute!

Have a wonderful weekend !
This flower is in bloom since the beginning of March!
