Still in love with solids

I put to good use the last pieces of my solid collection - 9" squares.
I spent some time wondering which fabric would look best as background: tan, black or white.
White color won. Black looks too dramatic and  anyway I think it is not a proper color for a young boy.

I have no idea what I am making here but it should be something beautiful because this quilt will be for a special 6 year boy.
There will be 56 blocks - I am struggling now with 1.5" white squares.

These are leftovers...

Pepe thinks I shouldn't throw them to trash!

Tomorrow the top should be done.

I've been working on the little strips trimmed from my latest Dutch Treat blocks too. And I do mean LITTLE. I've saved all of them from the first two DT as well. This time I made blocks with them as I went along so not such a daunting task. Soon I'll have my recyled top pieced too.

Hi,

I love your creativity.

You can keep the fabrics bits and make a mini quilt with them.

Or you can give them away.

I agree with Pepe :D, you should put those scraps in "that" special bag ;)
And I'll show you how something beautiful could be born from those...
Waiting to see the special 6 year boy quilt :)make me curious as ever...

Those scraps are beautiful, if nothing else you can do what my friend did....on my birthday she filled a 2 liter bottle with scraps like that and challenged me to make a quilt in 1 year I had to present it. So you can do this for one of your quilting friends. It was a lot of fun.

String them through a wreath for a sprong or summer home decor.
