I finished the top.
At first I made this. This was the initial idea for the design. Please pretend that the floor is the background fabric. It would have been a quick and pretty quilt...
Then a new idea and I made this...
and this...
Then I spent some time thinking of how to finish it.
One of the ideas was to make a quilt with 12 sides. It would have been a pretty play mat for Alex. Or a beautiful table topper.
The other idea was to make it square. Which I did...
And I love it...
love it.
I have learned a few lessons...One of them - the starch is a very good friend to a quilter. And a good iron. I don't think that my iron is the best... I needed a lot of patience to press the top...
The design would look great as stained glass too.
Do I have to say this ? In love forever with the solid fabric!
