The Tammy Bag Blog Hop

Hello Tammy bag creators! If you are here to see a Tammy bag, I apologize for not seeing one. Due to some medical issues, I was unable to sew mine in time for the blog hop.  I adore the small coin purses I made last year using Madame Samm's pattern and I would have loved to sew a version of her Tammy bag.  All I can do for now is to admire your Tammy bags. Thank you Madame Samm for the pattern and for the blog hop.

Please visit the today's participants - and prepare to be inspired!

June 14th ( friday)
In spite of the those medical issues of mine, something wonderful happened this week. While I was in the hospital, waiting for a surgery (fortunately, nothing serious), instead of a Geta terrified and scared, I saw a Geta peacefully staying in the bed, stitching hexagons. So grateful for the hexagon-mania!

These are the hexies I basted 2 hours before the surgery and in the second day after the surgery.

I had a  Fossil Fern charm pack; I washed it  (yes, I had to wash 5'' squares, I am allergic to new fabric) then I cut them into 4 x 2.5'' squares. Perfect size for 1'' hexagons.

I''ll sew them into a bag.

Happy weekend to you all,
Geta

  3. Glad to hear you are fine. I wanted to ask you how bad do the precuts turn out after washing them? I have been sewing batik hexagons and decided not to wash the fabrics. Do you think I will regret not washing these batiks first? I am only a fourth of the way into making my bed quilt, so I can wash the fabrics then start over. What do you think?

  4. Geta. Absolutely beautiful Fossil Fern hexies! I can see how they would calm you in the hospital. Glad to hear you're ok. I would love to share your picture on my blog about those ferns (I post about them from time to time). It's the loveliest thing I've seen done with all their colors together! Blessings to you and a quick return to "full speed."

  22. I hope that the health issues are soon behind you and you can try to make the Tammy bag. I think that it must be larger version of the coin purse that you already made?? Two of the gals so far have included one with their accessories.

The hexies are gorgeous. That is another hop coming up, I know.
